Because of it, there are often cancellation of various outdoor events

In today’s post, let’s find out how Koreans say “be rained out / off”!

우취 is short for ‘우천취소’, which means ‘be rained out’ or ‘be rained off’.

This term refers to when outdoor events such as sports games or concerts get canceled due to rain.

During the transition from summer to fall, outdoor events like concerts, festivals, and sports games are common. Due to Korea’s frequent rain during this season, the use of this term increased.

A: 비가 그칠 기미가 안 보이네… 오늘 콘서트 우취 되겠지?

The rain doesn’t seem to stop… Today’s concert is probably going to be rained out, right?
