[Korean Slang] #39 호캉스(Hotel staycation)

Welcome to Wikinae’s Korean Slang #39

Have you ever been on a hotel staycation?

Sometimes, all you need is a break from all the overwhelming things and kick back at a hotel 🧖‍♀️

In today’s post, let’s find out how Koreans call “hotel staycation”!

✔호캉스 is a shortened word combination of ‘호텔 (hotel)’ and ‘바캉스 (vacation)’ which means ‘hotel staycation’.

Many people choose hotels for vacations because they offer food, accommodation, and leisure activities like swimming, golf, and fitness. This neologism gained popularity since the 2000s and increased during COVID-19 when people avoided crowded places.
